Terms & Privacy

Refresh Conference is organised by MTÜ sTARTUp Day, a non-profit organisation founded by Tartu startup community organisations. This document sets out the terms and conditions between MTÜ sTARTUp Day and Refresh Conference ticket owners and attendees of both virtual and physical events.

By purchasing a ticket to the Refresh Conference, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions.

If you are purchasing a ticket on behalf of another individual, the responsibility is placed on the person purchasing it to ensure the person attending the event is aware of these terms and accepts them.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any amended terms and conditions will be posted to the refresh.rocks website. This version of the terms and conditions for MTÜ sTARTUp Day is applicable as of April 29, 2020.

Access to the Refresh Conference requires a personal ticket purchased from the official ticketing system. Please keep in mind that the ticket contains information about which events are included within the ticket. Some side events might require a separate ticket.

All prices indicated on refresh.rocks website are in euros and includes Estonian VAT at 22%.

Event organisers may ask for a valid ID to verify the ownership of the presented ticket. This may occur at the name badge pick-up and must be shown on request to gain admission to the event venue. If no such verification is provided, the purchased ticket is invalid, and the person will not be granted access to the event.

Any and all other costs associated with your attendance (including travel and accommodation expenses) shall be borne solely by the attendee, and MTÜ sTARTUp Day shall have no liability for such costs.

All tickets are non-refundable.

It is possible to allocate the ticket to a third party by assigning it if the ticket has been fully paid. Ticket holder name, company, or any other information can be changed by each ticket holder by logging in to the ticketing platform via the link provided in the email with the initial ticket or by contacting info@refresh.rocks. Each ticket holder will receive a confirmation email.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day will not be liable for granting any visas that are required to attend Refresh Conference. In the case that the attendee's visa is not granted, tickets will not be refunded for any event.

Refresh Conference uses an e-ticketing platform provided by Fienta Ticketing OÜ. Terms of service are found on the Fienta ticketing website. (as of May 20, 2018, on www.fienta.com/terms)

The following methods of payment are available:

• Online Estonian bank links: Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Danske, Coop. And Pocopay payment link.

• Online Finnish bank links: Aktia, Alandsbanken, Danske, Handelsbanken, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Omasp, Pohjola, POP Pankki, Säästöpankki, S-Pankki.

• Online Latvian bank links: SEB, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Citadele.

• Online Lithuanian bank links: Swedbank, SEB, Luminor (ex-Nordea).

• Credit card payments with VISA, Mastercard, Maestro.

• Invoice payments are operated by Fienta Ticketing OÜ.

Verification of payment may be requested for the purpose of resolving possible disputes about the purchase.

After purchasing a ticket for the Refresh Conference, you will receive an automatically generated registration confirmation and, after a successful payment, the tickets. If you do not receive a confirmation, be sure to check your junk email box in case it was caught by email filtering. In case you have not received the confirmation, please contact us via email at info@refresh.rocks. The confirmation, which includes a unique barcode, is used to claim your wristband, which will grant access to the conference. Wristbands must be worn at all times in event areas.

The pick-up locations and opening hours will be communicated on the refresh.rocks website and by email at least 2 weeks prior to the event. When picking up the wristband, the customer must present the email ticket with the unique barcode and a valid ID.

While speakers and topics are confirmed at least one month before the Refresh Conference, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations and cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, MTÜ sTARTUp Day reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary without any liability whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on the refresh.rocks webpage as soon as possible.

If the event is being cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (force majeure), ticket buyers will be refunded the total price of the purchased ticket(s). MTÜ sTARTUp Day does not hold itself liable for any other expenses incurred.

In case of rescheduling Refresh Conference, tickets may be returned by a deadline to be determined by MTÜ sTARTUp Day.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to any person or property, however caused. MTÜ sTARTUp Day will not be responsible for any tickets that are lost or stolen. Each participant must make provision for his or her own insurance.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behavior that it deems unacceptable or for breach of the terms and conditions and the code of conduct.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day has the right to collect, process, and use attendees' data (name, email, phone, country, company name, and profile) for the purposes of processing the purchase of the tickets.

Attendee’s emails are used to provide information about the following and future Refresh conferences & its siding events, and offers related to content. You can opt out of the newsletter subscription at any time, but you might be left out of important information about the event.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day is committed to protecting the privacy of its attendees. We do not rent or sell your contact information or other personal information to any third parties. Names of attendees may be used as proof of the event by public sector organisations with a proper cause. The data collected is retained for up to 7 years.

Attendees may not broadcast audio or video of sessions at the Refresh Conference. Mobile devices and cameras are allowed at the event. It is allowed to take photos and record for purposes of company or annual reports, company media pieces, marketing materials, etc. Attendees are responsible for compliance with all applicable intellectual property, privacy, and publicity laws, rules, and regulations.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day has the right to film, photograph, and capture attendee likeness with any media at the Refresh Conference without any further approval or payment to the attendee.

All the content on the Refresh website (www.refresh.rocks) belongs to MTÜ sTARTUp Day. Using, copying, or spreading the content in any way is not allowed without written permission issued by Refresh, except for personal, non-commercial use.

MTÜ sTARTUp Day gives permission for one-time reference on published blog posts under the following conditions:

Four (4) sentences can be used to refer to the blog post that has appeared on the refresh.rocks page.

Refereed sentences must contain a reference to the refresh.rocks page and a link to the web address of the article to be referenced. If the blog post referred to is not available on the web, the link must be directed to https://www.refresh.rocks. At the end of the repertoire, there must be another reference to the original article written as "Read more from Refresh Conference blog" along with the web address of the referenced article.
